It had taken him time to find Valhalla. His vague memories of these lands had not been as helpful as he'd hoped before his arrival here, and without his father, Castiel was more lost than ever, both physically and mentally. But at least now he'd found the borders of his family's home. The scent of his mother was strong in the area, which gave Castiel a leap of joy. He had been gathering his courage to approach when a howl rang out, echoing over the lands, and this howl was definitely not his mother. It was feminine, but foreign in every sense of the word, and curiosity drew Castiel forward. One paw in front of the other, he drew anxiously closer, coming to a stop at the edge of the gathering. His golden eyes scanned the area as he pricked his ears towards the black male that spoke as Castiel approached - who had made her a queen? Castiel frowned a little, feeling more confused than he dared admit. Was there a new, recently crowned ruler of Valhalla? What had happened to his family? Were they still in the area. Castiel took a nervous breath and fell back onto his haunches. He didn't say a word, but instead remained silent, listening and watching, seeking any signs of his family. Would they be here? Or were they long gone? Castiel hoped desperately that a familiar face would show, but he couldn't help but fear that after so long that none of his family would still be familiar. Gods, what if he didn't recognize them? Father, help me. Castiel muttered mentally, digging his claws into the earth as he waited for this meeting to begin. Perhaps this ebony stranger would tell him where his family could be found. |
