Her own pups were growing up so fast, already starting to wander out of Orchid's den. She couldn't seem to leave the girls side, she had been so helpful to her as her strength started to grow. But on this day, there was something in the fresh spring air. There was something wrong, she could feel it. Her motherly instincts were kicking in. She trotted over to her dear friend Ellis and asked if she could look after the two of them, there was something tugging at her heart. She was very much blessed to have such a good friend in the small woman, they often traded off watching the little ones. It was perfect that they both had their litters so close together, the babes seemed to already be growing into friends. So she set off, following that strange feeling that was tucking at her creamy coat.
Othello's instincts brought her to a thick briar, thorns sticking out everywhere and threatening to latch into her long tail. Lifting the appendage up she took great steps, trying not to catch her low hanging belly on the thickets. It was then that she saw the little one, pale eyes looking out blindly to the world. She knew what blindness looked like, both of Ellis's pups had eye defects. Poor Try was completely blind, Thesis only in one eye. But the glossed over look was a tell-tale sign of the pups lack of sight. The dame cleared her throat, hoping not to startle the poor dear. "Hello there little one." She said calmly, making her way carefully over to his little black body. "I'm Othello, are you lost child?" Her voice was level and calm, but she felt so compelled towards this little one. She licked the top of his head, wanting to calm the tiny beast. Being all alone in a place like this was no place for a pup.
