There had been two children at first -- one with bright orange eyes, and one with a hazy grey stare. Another boy with earthy hues and similar orange eyes trailed close behind them and Anthem offered a toothy smile in his direction, nodding his head gently. The girl with the murky stare spoke first, though as she tilted her head toward him, her stare seemed distant and unseeing. 'Can you tell us where we are?' she asked. He smiled at her too, liking the gentle sound of her voice. "Ludicael," he recited quickly, as he had memorized the name and would not forget it.
It seemed his knack for not knowing what to say would not be challenged today. Novella seemed quick to follow the source of the unfamiliar scent, approaching the children as well. He offered her a nudge to her shoulder as she drew near, his tail beginning to wag behind him. "What's Ebony?" he would ask with true curiosity, wondering if it was the name of a place or maybe the name of a group of wolves, like Ludicael.
