Quote:Like a phantom he had lurked the battlefield, drawn in by her presence alone. Someone had called for her - craving what she had, what she was so very proud of. Meeting her once more, she had told him that she was a Queen now, as if she was not already a regal creature before, as if she had been changed by the title alone in his absence. He was not sure whether she wanted him, and he knew that she did not need him, and yet here he was, heart pounding as he struggled not to throw himself into the fight to aide in defending her crown.
Despite his belief in her, she did not come out the victor - the spoils would go to the challenger, and he would look upon her with hint of disdain. Although it was natural, things were fought for and taken and that was the way of things, his mind would always side with Sibelle's wants, and she wanted this crown. She defended it.
His gaze would follow her out of the arena, and with her gone, he no longer had a reason to be present. And so the monochrome lupine would take his leave.
