Walk | Talk | Think

His aunt may have ruled the pack, his sister may have shared the lands with her, but it was full of strangers. Unfamiliar face after unfamiliar face greeted him at every turn, so many whose mere presence caused the dark hairs on the back of his neck to raise uneasily. He had been here a short time already, seen the birth of his nephews, and yet he still did not feel as if he had found his place yet. What would Alamea have thought, hearing the way his thoughts second guessed him? She had been nervous from the start, more so than he had ever been. But there was nowhere to go, nothing to be done about it right this second. There was a pack meeting that needed his attention, and as a newly instated member of Covari he and his were expected to show.

His brow was drawn into a deep frown as he strode toward the gathering, his frosty blue eyes skimming from the back of the group toward the front. Not a single one of the wolves was recognizable to him save the one who called them together, each foreign though seemingly more at ease here than he felt. It was irritating in a sense, but spotting his sister seated beside her two boys - where was the father, he wondered, tired of his new family already? - Rune released a deep sigh and moved to join her.

He saw none of his children as he went, feeling a mixture of disappointment and worry. Where were his girls? Would they show? Nothing was said to Maia as he stopped next to where she and her children sat, a formal nod being given to her and swift glances given to both young boys. And where was his? Sleeping the day away? Wishing for the company of his family, needing them near to feel at least somewhat normal again, Rune sat up straight and looked Viridiana's way, eager for everything to get underway.
