While her creamy lips moved to form words, to teach the inexperienced healer-in-training, Xae kept his eyes on the herb that Harmony had nosed. It made it difficult for him to completely listen, but, with his slightly floppy ears pricked, only the tips folding at an imperfect eighty degree angle, he caught her musical notes. Her words - no, her voice made his heart quicken. Xae felt irritation spring up, and his ears twitched to lie flat against his skull, but the russet creature more consciously held his ears forward. It wouldn't do for Harmony to see him irritated. She might think he was irritated at her, or worse, that he didn't understand what she was teaching him. In truth, even with her distracting company, Xae caught everything she was saying, and perhaps his heart held on to it more than his mind. Dull, drey eyes took in every inch of the plant, memorizing its thick, bamboo-like stem, its skinny leaves. When Harmony had finished, the male gave a nod of his head and looked up, reciting what she had just told him. "Horsetail. Thrives in wet, sandy areas. Capable of binding open wounds. May be ingested in small quantities to aid in kidney or bladder issues, and promotes health claws." He spoke in his quiet, smooth tone, his eyes searching Harmony's for approval.
