Being stealthy, quiet, and invisible was Winter's expertise. He mastered the art of hiding; however, his hunting skill were simply passable. This was probably obvious from his near skeleton frame. Typically he was a scavenger, but he wanted to seem all the more worthy to these wolves. He wanted to be worshiped.

It was dawn and minuscule droplets of water slept peacefully on the blades of grass they tread on. Each drop of dew mirrored the land around them while the twinkled softly due to the dawning sun. Colors of pink and blue painted the sky in a wondrous pattern. Beams of newborn light passed through the towering trees. It was beautiful.

Winter took in a breath of air, savoring the scent around them. The smell of rabbits were plentiful; however, he wanted something greater. Ah, the perfume of an elk struck his senses as if it were lightning. Yes, that would be perfect. The smell was fresh so that had to mean the creature was close. Winter stared at the grasses before him, following the places in which have been pressed down by a much larger animal. He relied on these trails and the elk's scent to lead him to it's location.

He spoke not a word for he trusted Dusk scented it to and would hopefully follow him. Any sound could spook the creature away. Winter continued the trail until the elk came in sight. It was standing in an opening on a hill on the border of the willows; however, there was an issue with this game. The elk appeared to have a fawn at its side - a babe. Ah, it just made this hunt all the more interesting. Two kills in one if done successfully; however, it made it much more dangerous for them both. For a mother would not flee, she would attack.
