Avalon

She would wander about the structure of the abandoned ship. Memories never forgotten consuming her with each step she took. The room she had been locked in, the door wide open. She stared in there, the scents of old Amenti long gone. Old blood, her blood, stained the ground where her leg once infected had been allowed to bleed. Fresh wounds over old wounds, never allowed to heal. Although it was behind her now, she couldn't forget. She would turn away, continuing on her exploration. Paws stepped quietly upon the wood and steel surfaces, eyes and ears aware around her as she thought that perhaps one of her captors might still be lurking here. Oh how she wanted to rip into the throats of them all...Canttina...Morgana...Ryu...Karmen...and countless others. They all had deathwishes, and she would deliver them. Though she knew not that they had all signed their own contracts and met death all on their own. A growl bubbled in her throat, slowly fading as she stopped in a hallway. Her paws had led her to a lower structure, and she was sure she was near the bottom of the ship now.

The hall was dark. A lone light further down beckoned to her, and for some reason it would pull her in. Drawing out her curiosity. She was nervous, yet she did not feel afraid. She would close her eyes for a moment, calming her pounding heart and rage. And yet, they would flash open as she felt the air around her brush against her pelt. But...it felt too real. She turned around, amber gaze finding nothing. And the air was still, was it her imagination perhaps? Facing forward again, Avalon would gaze at the small dull light as it seemed to flicker. She would take a single step forward, stopping immediately. Scents would wash over her, another touch would brush against her shoulder this time as she stared at the flickering ember of light. She was afraid to turn around, to look. For fear that she would see something she was afraid to see. Swallowing, she would turn her ears, and a voice would whisper her name. It sounded sweet, like a summer song. Her breath caught in her throat, her chest tightening.

"Mom?" A single word fell from her lips. Throat tightening as she stared in disbelief. It had to have been her imagination...there was no way her mother would be here...not after so long of searching. Slowly, she walked forward. Gaze never leaving the light that she saw. The closer she got, the more the air around her would feel comforting. Like a blanket cast over her. Protecting her. She wanted to pick up the pace, but feared that if she moved too fast she would lose what she was chasing. A scent would hit her, washing over her. Calming her. Calling her. Her heart would pound, another word falling from her inky lips. "Mom...?" She would draw close, the feeling never leaving her as she gazed upon what stood before her the moment she entered the room. Through the doorway she had seen a figure, looking exactly like her Father. It would turn to look at her, and her throat would tighten as eyes grew watery. "Dad?" As soon as she said the word, the apparition would smile with all the love and kindness of the world, his head turning then as if indicating something. Avalon's eyes followed in his direction, and there stood someone she had not expected to see. Gargoyle would disappear, and in his place stood her sister.

"O-Odette?" Was she seeing ghosts today? The scents around them lingered, embracing them as if they were all standing together in the room. Tears would slide from her eyes and down her cheeks, the girl moving forward to close the distance between her and her sister. She couldn't believe it, but she had to know this was real. Without hesitance, she drew forth and pressed against her sister. Burying her face into the warm fur of Odette as she began to cry. It had been so long since she had seen any of her family...but most importantly, she was happy to see her sister alive and well. "You've gotten so big!" Was all she managed to say through her tear filled reunion.
