Soleil lay under a tall bush. It was dying, the end of warmth taking all life with it. It was odd because Soleil was just regaining life. Perhaps unbelievably, she felt stronger than ever.

Blue eyes watched the clouds go by as she sighed heavily. What a slow slow day. There was a sound across the airwaves, drawing her head up from her paws to look out into the distance. Through the foliage, the sound was familiar, someone waited at the border. She rose to her feet, listening a moment after the call had ended. She didn't hear any nearby movement but it was impossible to tell either way if someone was going to greet the wolf.

Her hesitation was momentary. Perhaps she wasn't an Alpha anymore but she could still greet a wolf. Being an Alpha had never suited her. It had been wrongly given to her and she was glad to see it go. Being away from Collision made it hard for her to gauge what caused him give up his seat, but she was sure he had to have a good reason. It likely tied into the fact that she had yet to see his face.

When she arrived, firstly she saw Cairo, then she was taken by the great wall of a wolf who stood there. Her auburn lined eyes catching on the markings on his shoulders and back and she had to do a doubt take to be sure it wasn't Collision that she was seeing. He had too much tan. Not Collision. The scent was not his, plus this wolf was built thicker and had a docked tail. His companion was silent. Soleil hung back from the group, listening to them. So help was needed in Glaciem? Cairo suggested that she go, taking her entire family with her.

Soleil stepped into the open, clearing her throat. "I will go to Glaciem." Her voice was strong, regal, and to the point. Finally she sounded like the Alpha she had been so briefly.

Her eyes fell onto Cairo, "Pardon Cairo, but I will go alone. Though my husband is not here to speak for himself, I don't think he would appreciate you pawning him off on his brother. My children are old enough now to stay," She looked a bit troubled, faltering for a moment. "I'd prefer it."

Her eyes turned to look up at Gargoyle. She had never met him in person but Collision had told her enough of his past to know him, plus his markings were unmistakable. She turned to stand squarely before the lord, nodding deeply at him. "I am Soleil, mate of Collision, at your service." Service, servant. Yes, all she was was a servant.

God positive thinking was hard without Collision.
