Kassander's shock at finding himself unexpectedly taken by Olympus wolves outweighed any outrage the young wolf might have felt. He'd finally been recognized in his quest to be a healer, been given a mentor and a rank within the pack that had nothing to do with his mother... and now it was all gone. Washed away in a moment. Katja had lost in her bid to keep Kassander and his siblings all in Ebony and he could not help but resent her for it. She was no better than Raisa, with their false promises and their failures. Maybe they were better off now. But, confusingly, hadn't Virgil abandoned them too when she'd taken their siblings back to Olympus in the first place? Kassander didn't know what to think, and the shock was muting anything he might be feeling. The would-be healer was just there floating through the days since they'd been taken. Svet had been making herself scarce, and he worried about her, but... distantly, as if someone else was feeling it. Did he still get to learn to be a healer? Did Virgil really still think of him as a son? Or was he just a prisoner here? He just didn't know what to do anymore. |
