OOC: Yeah, so I know what I great example I'm being, not replying to my own hunt thread by the due date? But my internet hasn't been working for about five days, so that's why. So sorry about that! Let's keep things moving and try to have everyone reply by next week. So that's THURSDAY AUG 28th guys! :D

The brute smiled as the first member arrived. She was an established healer in the pack, and if his memory served him her name was Orchid. Dayton would lower his head gratefully at her words, chuckling a bit at her phrasing. "I would never think to turn you away, my lady. We'll need everyone to help out if we wish to be successful."

Dayton then lifted his eyes to the next arrival. She would stride in on long legs and held her posture dominantly. Instantly Dayton recognized this to be Sibelle. He briefly looked her over and took in a silent breath through his nose, memorizing her for future reference. Sibelle was an important figure in Solstice. "I'm afraid we haven't met. I am Sibelle, Regimen of Solstice." Her tail wagged easily as she spoke, and Dayton mirrored the movement, adding in a bow of respect. "No, we haven't met, but of course I know who you are," he smiled for a moment before introducing himself. "I am Dayton, member of Solstice and close friend to Crucifix."

Another woman came next, and she introduced herself politely. "Hello, Devya. My name is Dayton," he told her. "It's my pleasure to meet you." After Devya had settled in with the group, the alpha himself arrived. Crucifix immediately maneuvered his way to the earthen boy that had called the meeting, his voice as warm and friendly as always. Dayton simply nodded in response. Then he would be asked about how he planned to do things with the hunt, and to that he would say "I guess it depends on how many members show up."

But perhaps saying such a thing jinxed the group, because after Crucifix came only one other wolf arrived. It was the woman who was related to Crucifix, judging by her scent, but Dayton had yet to learn her name. And she was the only one who did not introduce herself, so Dayton made the first move, waiting quietly until she had greeted the alpha. "Thank you for coming, miss, I don't believe we've met? My name is Dayton."

But that was it. All of the members had come, or perhaps some had failed to respond. Amber eyes moved across the group, taking in all five wolves. And one of them was the alpha. Dayton sighed before addressing the group. They had waited long enough, and the herds were getting farther away by the minute. "Thank you all for coming today, though I'm sure we all expected a few more helping hands..." The brute would squint into the surrounding trees one last time, still just a little bit hopeful. Then he spoke again. "Either way, we will make do with what we have. This will be a small hunt because of our numbers, but that does not mean we won't be successful. Many herds are taking advantage of the fresh grass this prairie has to offer. And in turn, we will take advantage of the abundant prey. Who here believes themselves capable of leading the hunt with me? This will include the responsibility of making the final kill," he added. "So please keep that in mind when volunteering."

Dayton paused for a moment to let his words sink in and to allow any volunteers to speak up. Then he went on. "We also need wolf or two to run ahead and scout out our prey, so those of you who are light on their feet or do not feel comfortable doing the killing can take over that responsibility." He looked about then, waiting for responses. As soon as they could figure out their roles, then this hunt could get under way. Then they could talk strategy and things.
