The Lead Beta was patrolling, pushing away all negative thoughts that even related to Guinevere. Despite making progress with his future political career, his personal life was in shambles. Family was there when he needed them, but he still felt at a loss for anything he wanted. He wasn't ready to be a father, nor did he fully trust Guinevere to take her as his mate. Some days, he thought he would be the leader whom remained a virgin and isolated himself from everyone.
As such thoughts began to rise in his mind, he heard a call from the other side of his pack lands. Ears perked and head turned in the direction, curiosity and newfound energy rising and spreading through his body. The call was urgent and he quickly acted on the sound. Mix-matched paws carried his lithe form through the familiar woods of his borders, avoiding any traps or tricky places where one might twist their foot. For some reason, he felt like he had to rush more now than ever before.
Whines of pain and despair rose upon the air as Dhiren approached the outer region of his home. His black frame stopped short of crossing the border, body immediately freezing when he saw who it was. Guinevere...where had she been? His heart began to pick up speed when he realized what was going on. She was in labor...Anger and betrayal raced through his body when another fact hit him: she was having the litter of the man whom had taken over her while she was in heat. His brows furrowed and he was torn between turning and leaving her there or helping her get across the borders to a safe location.
Dhiren turned his head to the right, eyes closed as his confused mind worked out its knots and kinks. What was he going to do? A low growl rumbled in his chest and with reluctance, he turned his head to look at her. His paws slowly pulled him towards her fetal position, ears flattened against his skull. He crossed the borderline and came to her side, black nose nudging her face that remained hidden by her front paws. From simply observing her, Dhiren knew she was in pain and her need for healers was vital.
He rose his head and gave a summoning call for Song. Even though she hadn't officially practiced herbs in awhile, he knew that her knowledge was vast. Novel's situation kept her from appearing, so the only person he could trust was the one that had given him life. Once his song faded from the air, he walked around the writhing woman and wrapped himself around her. His form meshed into hers as she moaned and twisted from the labor pains. Words were lost, so he simply remained around her as he waited for Song to appear.
