Demonio didn't know all of what he had saved her from. He didn't know that she had been defeated, conquered, left broken, limbs cracked like a broken marionette. He didn't know that she had watched them dismember the small group of rogues who had taught her friendship, kindness, love, he didn't know that her pups had been disemboweled, flesh and organs spraying her pelt as they drew the life from the tiny youths she had given birth too. he didn't know she had lain there until her flesh began to cling to her bone and her pelt began to wither, until her eyes grew dry and itchy and her tongue threatened to fall from her lips, so cracked and dry. But she had struggled and she had survived, the experience solidified her back into that blood hungry warrior. The demon whose only purpose of life revolved around death and torture. When he met her... she had been dancing on the precipice of her sanity. Dancing with a reckless vengeance on the razors edge of a mindless thirst for blood, in little more than a few weeks he had coiled his teeth around her and pulled her so far away that she couldn't remember why she had ever wished to return to such a life.

He saved her with every breath he drew, every touch he made upon her, he reminded her of light, of love, of goodness. He filled her soul with strength and courage, he filled her with life itself. She was nothing, absolutely nothing without him. No title, no proclamation, no pack, no treaty was worth the price of his love, and he would have to forgive her, around everyone else she needed to be the warrior she once was, but when they were alone she would gladly be weak, if only for him. She approached him like a woman scorned because she deserved his hatred and Queen or no, she would never rule him, never demand anything more from him, other than his love. She would be weak, she would be a slave, if only for him. If he asked her, she would give up her title and her throne, she would run with him to the ends of the earth and beyond. She loved Tortuga, she wished to see it thrive and grow, but if that meant the loss of her beloved, she wouldn't do it, she couldn't do it. She needed Demonio like the air she breathed, the oxygen she drew into her lungs. Demonio was her everything, her lover, her soul mate, her world. Nothing, nothing on this earth was more precious to her than his love and so she bowed, she bowed and she begged, pleading with him to forgive her, apologizing for the fool she had been and the fool she was. A fool the rest of her days.

She could smell the salty rivers of tears that slipped from his eyes and in the next moment she could see them. Her eyes widened, stunned and in shock as his body scraped the earth, leveling before her and panic squeezed her heart. This was it, this was his decision. Would he leave or would he stay? She could speak no more, the tears that leaked from his gaze had closed her throat, she could scarcely draw breath let alone find it within herself to speak. Her heavy bodice trembled and her two-toned eyes would stare with so much fear and love and hope that her body trembled with the force of it. His black nose would nudge her muzzle and lift her head, and the soft cry that escaped her throat couldn't be helped, with that tiny gesture, she knew he still loved her, despite the wrong she had caused him. Her eyes squeezed shut, but she could not hold the emotion that trickled from her eyes.

Soundlessly, save for the sobs that shook her frame, her own bodice would lower to the earth, she crawled forward, coiling her head around his neck and squeezing him as tight as she could, tears slid from her damp cheeks and vanished into his pelt, but she couldn't care. "I'm sorry Demonio, I'm so so sorry." Her voice was broken, choked with emotion as she repeated the mantra of apologies again and again and again. She wasn't sure how long they lay there, but when next her thoughts would clear enough to see, the sun had dipped far below the horizon. Blanketing the world in darkness. When she reluctantly pulled back from him, she didn't go far. She pulled her head back, only to rest her maw against his own. "Anything, everything, you want to know is yours. I will tell you everything. Every decision, every plan. I may be Vecaan, but I want you, I need you at my side, I promise you will never be left in the dark again."
