She could not explain how she felt about Newol, not easily at any rate. Somewhere along the line her respect of him had become something else. Quickly, perhaps too quickly, she had grown fond of the male. Love was a foreign emotion to Serra - except taken to the extremes that she reserved for her family. But lately she had come to realize that she was her own wolf, and that had made all the difference in the world. It had given her the freedom to return to Newol's side without feeling guilty about her family. They were all adults now, and she owed herself this much. She owed herself the happiness that Newol gave her.

With that in mind, Serra had set off in search of him, her tail waving like a proud banner as she sought the brown and black male out. "Newol!" She called out as she drew nearer to the male's den, lifting her voice to reach him in the confines of his peaceful den. At the edge, she came to a stop, respecting his space enough that she would await an invitation before tramping in. An easy smile crossed her features at the site of him, and she felt a kind of calmness settle over her that had been missing for the past few days.

She had missed him. It was strange to admit, but goodness, it was true. He treated her with respect and kindness, and she had truly come to care about him - even love. It was a new, strange thing for Serra, but she was certainly happy in it. And she never wanted to lose him. Of course, then, she had come back and sought him out, giving him a few days to himself in case he chose to reconsider this. She would leave, of course, if he sent her away, with her head held high, but that thought seemed unlikely. He loved her and she loved him and it was that simple.
