Walk | Talk | Think

It was official. Her family was in a pack again, trading one western home for another. Vaishya's memories of Valhalla were still limited to those that she recalled from the space surrounding their den, the roomy interior that she and her siblings had romped about it and then the immediate world outside where her mother finally allowed them enough freedom to begin exploring. It was such a minimal memory compared to everything that she remembered after. Moving, living in the Estuary, the frantic race her mother and brother had made to get back here, and then awaiting the verdict on their request to join the Olympus pack. Perhaps it was the fear that had shadowed her every step during that journey, but she could hardly recall any specific details about the previous pack she had lived within. Everything was shrouded by the details of her family's flight for safety.

But here they were supposedly safe. Here in Olympus they were supposedly given their second chance at starting over and moving on. The deep grey girl was not entirely sure how she felt about it, how she felt about this pack and her place in it, but neither could she bring herself to mention any of the thoughts that had been ghosting around her mind. The conversation she had had with the grey-eyed male Aurelio had stuck with her long after their meeting had ended, and even now those same restless urges tugged at her paws as if trying to coax her into action. The freedom that he possessed being unclaimed, without ties to anyone, were so tempting to the growing pup, her mind eager for everything the world had to offer. Guilt prevented her thoughts from ever getting too far, however, what with her mother being so overprotective and knowing she was still so young. Soon her birthday would arrive, however, and with it she hoped would come the last of the arguments she would make against her mother to see about seeking some of that freedom out for herself.

For now, however, she was an Olympus wolf, a devoted daughter to her mother, and a quiet, wide-eyed observer to the goings on around her. Her blue-gold gaze stared out across the afternoon plains, the beginning colors of the sunset alighting everything in shades of yellow and orange. It was quite lovely, especially with the view unhindered by any trees or shrubs that might have taken away from the flat, grassy plane of the horizon. Vaishya stared at the changing colors of the grasses, the sky, as she took up a crouched position beside the river that cut through the territory, wondering briefly to herself how different her life would be once she could go wherever she wanted, once she was free to see this sunset from many different lands.
