Erani bathed her younger son?s face and back, clearing away the tears as he finished his weeping. His next words made her heart both happy and sad at the same time. She wanted him to get out and about with his father and his siblings, at least until he was old and strong enough to go out by himself, but she couldn?t help but feel pleased that he wanted to stay with her. He asked a question, and she nodded, smiling. ?Of course we can, Gabriel.? She nuzzled into his round belly, licking softly. ?I love you too, Gabriel.?

She smiled, and gazed into his mismatched eyes. ?I want you to know something. Even when I?m not around, I?m still with you, in your heart.? She nosed his tiny chest. ?Never forget this. And I will never stop loving you, not ever.? She nuzzled her son again, then rose to her paws.

?Come on. Lets go for that walk.?
