She took his words in stride, replying without missing a beat and pulling a smile from the boy. The fae stepped away from him and Valentine turned to face her once more, and followed for a pace. He toed the Arcanum border, wishing to step over it but unwilling to play entirely into her hands so quickly.

Unable to resist, his gaze left her face once more. His eyes traced the markings on her shoulder, languidly following the curves of the design before letting his gaze slide to the stripes on her leg and tail. They were unusual, defying the laws of nature, and yet, their beauty was undeniable. If he believed in deities, the boy would attribute the femme's markings to them.

His eyes returned to her face. If they were going to play this game, then he wished to see what all he could get away with. Valentine moved closer, gliding over the Arcanum border to test the fae's boundaries by teasing the border of her personal space. "I think that could be arranged," he murmured, intently watching the gold-marked girl for her reaction.
