It wasn't really until she had discovered her daughter that Emer had realised just how tired she truly was. It had taken some time to get her strength back up, the storms certainly not helping though even as her heat faded, she was still unable to dive into the caves with an unknown pack. They may have been kind to Cecily, she would thank them, albeit it not in person, for that though she simply couldn't bring herself to trust them all the same. Her nightmares had eased slightly though memories still troubled her deeply now.
There was another role reversal taking place now, Taddeo had once had to care for Emer in the way that Cecily was now. Deep down she knew it was wrong, she was the mother meant to care for and protect her young though even further into the dark recesses of her mind, Emer knew she was quite the failure of a mother, these awful fears that consumed her simply the start of her errors.
There were moments she would allow herself to be happier though, glad to be with her daughter once more even if the rest of the family were still missing. The girl she'd once thought of as her darker miniature had begun to prove this was not the case however, taller than Emer now and far more responsible it seemed. She may have been a pathetic excuse for a parent but she was certainly proud of Cecily, even more so knowing that life certainly hadn't been an easy path for the girl from the word go.
Here she was now, ready to take the lead on what could potentially be a wild goose chase and Emer could only smile softly as she nuzzled the girl. "As am I. Shall we go then?" She was certainly having a slightly better day it seemed, Cecily entirely to thank for that.
