Her snarl was enough to make his ears prick forward, but her lunge had only given him enough time for little defenses. Quickly, he would part his hind legs, digging his paw pads into the ground for enough traction for the upcoming impact. He had turned little while preparing, her left shoulder hitting more of the front of his right shoulder blade than the middle of his chest. His head pulled upward as they collided, her attempt to grab his eye would go south slightly, she may have been able to grab hold of his right cheek or lower jaw.
At this point, his jaw was opened wide, then lunging to grab scruff behind her right ear. But her effort to pull him the the ground with her leg would throw him off. He could have grabbed her right shoulder or forelimb, or nothing at all.
He could feel his weight coming out from under him, and as he fell to the ground, he would push all of his weight with his left knee and right paw, hoping that it was enough for him not to get trapped under her own weight. He didn't want to fight her, but there was no choice. He knew he couldn't simply talk her out of it.

Attacks: Bite aiming to her scruff, but went off balance. Bite could land anywhere on her right shoulder or forelimb.
Defenses: Parting of hind legs; pushing against any weight that could fall on him after put on ground.
Injuries: Minor bruising to front of right shoulder blade.
