Daegmar moved to join him, taking up position on the cow's left side. The boy having been chased in a half circle, had fallen behind, and it wasn't until his mentor managed to get a grip on the bison's leg that he caught up. Wary of her heels, the young brute came up on the cow's right side in the hopes of aiding Daegmar in her assault without getting in her way. With two wolves attacking on opposite sides, he was hoping that the bison wouldn't know who to go for. At the very least, their presence should be enough to keep her distracted.
A hoof sailed over his head and the boy ducked, his reaction almost too slow. The cow managed to catch his right ear, snapping it back and causing it to slap against his skull with startling force. Surprised, Laufey's stride faltered and he dropped back several paces. That was too close!
There was no time to dwell on it though and the young brute, even though there was now a healthy dose of fear in him, pressed on. He surged forward, long strides bringing him quickly towards his target. His jaws parted, neck extending as he strove to sink his fangs into the cow's right thigh.
