Did he dare? She was so close, so irresistibly close, that he could feel her breath on his face. An ache began to build inside him, the hole in his heart demanding he do something to fix it. The fae's presence was intoxicating, every movement working to strip him of his inhibitions. Her scent drew him in like a bee to honey.

She answered him, tempting him with veiled words and the boy, unwilling to disappoint, was quick to comply. He desperately wanted to touch and feel something. Desperate to be wanted, needed, Valentine was willing to sell his very soul.

The brute moved closer and reached out as if to kiss her cheek, but stopped short. He was so close he could feel the warmth coming off her skin, could count the eyelashes that adorned her gold etched lids. Would she reject him? Was he being led on, brazen advances being countered by equally brazen teasing? Perhaps she was just as starved as he, craving, dying for a spark.

She had ample time to reject his advances and it was with that in mind that he leaned forward to close the distance between them, attempting to steal a kiss.
