Flying high in the sky

Laoch stretched his muscles and took a deep breath as he stepped out into the late-morning air, sighing happily before shaking out his fur and glancing around at the trees around him. He was nearly half grown, his legs taking on an awkwardly long stance compared to the rest of his body that hadn't quite caught up. He looked like a gangly teenager, but at the same time still handsome with his thick coat of black fur. His tail wagged behind him as he started looking for his siblings or even one of the other seemingly numerous wolves that shared this area with his family. He had begun to realize, as he got older, that he was related in some way to almost every wolf that lived in the willows although he still hadn't quite learned how exactly he was related to them all. They were all family and that was good enough for him.
