Birdspying

Noel's tail wagged at the mention of names being important to the other. Indeed, names were important, they gave a wolf an identity whether or not they were part of a family, pack or something else or all on their own. "It's a pleasure to meet you Levi." And it was. Noel liked meeting new wolves, and learning more about the lands he'd come to and the wolves that lived there.
He glanced at the bird, and with another tail wag, he thanked the other male. "Thank you. I appreciate it." The bird was but a small morsel that he chewed upon and then swallowed. "At the moment, if I were to eat, I'd like to hunt for something a big bigger. It's been an age since I last had deer. They're too difficult to catch on my own. Rabbit is fast, so I don't always get them." It was sad. He had strength and size, but the lighter weight and smaller wolves probably had better luck with rabbit than he did.
"So, what is a handsome fellow like you, doing on your own?" Was he a native, Noel wondered, or like him someone from a different land far, far away.
