And flowers in your hair

A large breath puffed out of his lungs when she shook her head, letting him know that they got off a lot easier than they had. "That's good to hear Aunty. Unfortunately... we did not get off quite so easily." He let out a soft sigh, head hanging somewhat. "Chrono fell into the rapids, they had risen so much with all the storms. We were just out on our way to evacuate, and he fell. I tried to save him, but I had been too late. One of the pups nearly slipped away but Motif saved his life. We had to hide in the Singing Caverns until the storms wore off, I even had to dig a ditch so that we would not get trapped inside the caves. Food had been hard to come by, but we made it." He paused, looking back up and shrugging his creamy shoulders. "When we came back home, Abaven looked like a hell hole. We are still working on cleaning it up, but I doubt that it will look like home again for quite some time." Bass let out another sigh, falling back on to his rump. "I wish I had some good news to tell you, but only more bad news. Harmony has seemed to have lost herself, she vanished from Abaven and I have not been able to track her down. Even Quintus doesn't know what is wrong with her, and he seems to be the closest one to her besides her family."
The boy shook his head, his shoulders heavily sagging. "The one thing that I could tell you in good is that I have taken a wife. Wren is the love of my life -- but she too has gone missing. A few days before she too vanished, her scent had been all... wrong. I think she is very sick, and I go out looking for her every day. Still no sign of her though, and I don't know how much longer I can take this. I am very thankful for my pack though, they support me even when I am feeling at my lowest." His eyes searched Novella, wondering, praying, that she had some advice for him. Bass felt so lost, it was a hard enough season to deal with without this whole mess of emotions. They needed to start preparing for winter, but there were other things that clouded his mind.
