The Stories They Tell!

She had heard almost everyone talk about the Northern land, a bridge connecting her home to the north. Now not only did they hear the Northerners, but now they could come here. Everyone seemed troubled by this and it was something the young female couldn't understand why. Were all those strange wolves bad? Did all of them mean to bring nothing but destruction to her home and family? Why did they want to bring them harm if it was true? So many questions but her main one was why? Perhaps everyone was wrong? But the Goddess wouldn't lie to them, she have had before so why would she now? She wanted to know so badly but there were other pressing matters closer at hand. Something about Shai never settled well with her. She wasn't blind to some of the looks he sent to her and her sibling. Why did he not like them? Was it because she didn't have as dark a pelt as him? Did he just not like younger wolves? Sure she could be annoying, she knew that. But Skah was her Hero and well if Shai was nicer he would be too! Skah was a great example of how wolves should be. And he was sacrificing himself for the good of the Oracle. Plus who wouldn't be more proud to be related to the wolf who guarded the oracle? The scent of berries filled her nose, sweet and bitter. Flopping down infront of a few elderberry bushes. As much as she tried to be involved, to make her siblings proud, she always found herself alone. She didn't like it, it was depressing, cold. Head rested down on her forepaws as green and brown eyes stared blankly ahead of her. So long as she had the forest and the Goddess she would never be alone. But nothing could replace the feeling of having family close by. To bond with the living, the now and here. And somehow she felt like she had somehow missed out on that. "Burn Baby Burn" |
