Too Little Too Late

The sweet girl seemed off, distraught even and Dione would watch her curiously as she seemed to shy away from the question Dione would give her before answer somewhat shyly. She would look away before saying that she left. Left? Left what? Dione would not prompt the girl, instead simply fixing her with a curious gaze and arching brows. Would she give Dione a better explanation. After another moment a better answer would rush from her lips and Dione brows would lower before knitting together. Her parents were replacing her? Why? Gaze darkened, smile fading as she watched the girls every movement, watched her body language as she spoke of her deceitful parents and what they had done to her. How dare they! Why would they go out and collect others when they had such a darlin child of their own? And she had a brother too? Was he feeling as displaced as his sister? Could she possibly get two of these precious babes in one fell swoop. Oh dear Valentine would be so proud of her.
Mercy would begin begging then, words coming out in a rush. "Shhhh shhhh sweet girl..." Words were hushed, languid as she tried to calm the girls frantic words. Such a sweet thing. Hadnt her parents ever taught her that strangers could be dangerous? Apparently not much to Dione's delight. "Of course my sweet. I live in a pack with my dear sweet Mr.Red and our alpha Valentine. Come home with me, I can teach you of the wonders of this world." She would murmur, reaching out with a paw to attempt to touch Mercy's chin and lift her face so they could look eye to eye. "Come home with me dear. You can be a part of my family and never be replaced. You will always be the special dear that you are to me..." Her words were a soft purr, a gentle coo. Holding that they would give this child something to latch onto so she could pull herself out of the darkness that she was festering within.
