Though he had been keeping a distance from the sibling pair that he had accepted into Secretua, Rune had still been keeping an eye on them. Akemi seemed content to roam the pack lands and get acquainted with her new home while Freyr appeared very much to be something like a second shadow to the woman, hardly doing much solo exploration or even trying to mingle with those of the pack. Maybe they were having a harder time adjusting given that the female was pregnant. It was an unfortunate turn of events that had led to that, and he did not know the extent of her own personal healing from it and feared pressing them both further than they were willing to go.
Today was different, however. Neither had been spotted throughout the territory, and neither appeared to be anywhere near their den. Considering Akemi had been growing closer and closer to her delivery date it did not seem to be good timing at all. Rune had searched the borders, searched for a scent, and found that of Freyr first and foremost. It led beyond the pack's borders and with a growl in his throat he followed after it into the wilds beyond Secretua, wondering where in the hell they had gone at a time like this.
What he found was, as far as he was concerned, chaos. Blood preceded his finding them, and it was not simply Akemi and Freyr that he came upon but a rogue as well. All three were gathered about the shrub the mother-to-be had curled up beneath, and as he came to stop nearby Rune stifled an irritated growl. But with pups on the way, what did he even say to the distracted mother? To Freyr who was busy consoling her and talking her through what was happening? To the rogue who appeared to be a concerned healer? Of them all, he was likely the least qualified to be here, but considering they were all out in unclaimed territory maybe he did have a purpose after all. With a warning look to the rogue male, simply to dissuade any untoward thoughts, Rune turned his back on the trio and set his stern gaze about them, standing guard while the rest focused on birthing the pups.
