ever since i could remember

Somehow, in all of his explorations and travels, Leo had looked over this huge land that seemed to hold another world to explore. He had crossed the land bridge that connected the two land masses excitedly, more than ready to explore and venture into these new lands. Now that he had tracked down most of his family, he felt confident in his ability to find them again later and had no worries in leaving them for a short time. Everything he had come across so far in these lands and proved to be worth the trip. Everything here was beautiful and incredibly unique, but somehow he had failed to find a single wolf here. He knew they existed, he smelled their scents, but they seemed to be invisible

As he stepped onto the beach, the cool breeze blowing up off of the ocean and ruffling his russet coat, he caught one of the invisible wolf's scents again, but this time he saw paw prints in the sand. Some of them got quickly washed away by the ever present waves, but they lingered long enough for his sapphire gaze to follow them to the nearby brush. He looked at the pawsteps curiously for a moment before slowly making his way toward it, his nose twitching as he followed the scent. Were they running from him? Why? He could tell from the scent that this was a fea, but he wasn't an imposing brute. At thirty-three inches he knew he was fairly short compared to some other males he had met and he liked to think he was a friendly looking wolf. So why would they run from him? He stopped a few feet from the brush, peering into it curiously. "Hello? Is anyone there?"
