Had she heard mother leave? Or maybe father? Maybe it was a dream. But she knew that their absence had made the den grow colder every minute. It was paining, slowly, she felt her body numb but couldn't feel the cold, a tiny shiver ran down her spine. And not too long after, she would be waken slightly by none other than Lian. He wrapped his tiny body surrounding hers, she would rub her back into him with care just as she did to mother. Unlike her brother, she did not notice those tender things that Lel did to Jian. Maybe it was a guy thing, or maybe she just didn't care enough to notice. The two were too young to truly understand what all of it was, but being siblings as their parents wouldn't slow them down, especially with them being the example. Zola would stay still a moment, letting Lian lash at her ears ever so gently. But soon she would turn, into him, on her back and reach up to stroke her fangs down his ear before asking, "Why are you so nice?" It wasn't a question of now, but in all. Though his lashing out and growling and attacking were all supposed to bad and cruel things, she saw him as nice. She thought he was protecting her, maybe even making her stronger. Helping her.
