HERNE DESTRUCTION

and we'll never go to heaven but who needs to when we live this good ?

The days were growing colder and shorter, and Herne found himself less and less willing to wander far. He wasn't aware of what changes had occurred within Alacritia, and even the events that had happened nearby had not reached the youngster's ears. Change was in the air, but he hadn't the faintest clue of this. For Herne, the world was as beautiful and simple as it had always been.

Days were quiet and spent training or exploring; typical pup things. He was growing closer to adulthood, his body filling out more and more as he began to put on muscle mass and fat as well. Herne would never be bulky, but his skin was no longer taught around his bones and he looked healthy despite his small size. He was growing up, and as he drew steadily closer towards his first birthday, Herne found himself becoming more aware of life as a whole.

On this particular day, Herne had a mission in mind; he fully intended to seek out his sister and spend a little bit of time with her. There were so few pups within Threar, something that he only vaguely understood could be strange - apparently, some other packs had more than one litter inhabiting them at a time? But somehow, despite the small amount of youngsters within Threar, Herne had managed to see less of his sister than he would have desired.

And so the boy let out a squeaky howl, calling for Varda as well as he could. His voice was still young and underdeveloped, but it would hopefully carry to Varda's ears and bring her to his side. He wanted to see his sister! And hopefully she would reciprocate that sentiment and would come to visit Herne. He wasn't entirely sure what he would do if he didn't show up; he would probably just stay put for a while and then wander off, he supposed. Ah well. It seemed unlikely that Varda would not come. She was his sister, after all. They were family.
