Winter has fallen upon him quicker than he thought. The brutal time of year when food was low, shelter was hard to find, and packs seemed to be more on edge about loners coming close to their borders. His ebony tipped paws crunched with each step he took on the fresh layer of snow that covered the frosted earth below him. His warm digits flickered in search for a place to rest for a minute, something out of the bitter wind and maybe to hide until the wind died down or to rest his tired body. But when his digits landed on a light colored figure off in the distance, he muscles moved without his command towards the figure.
Without a second thought that she was with a pack or mate, Mav spoke when he was within hearing distance. His voice friendly yet confused. “Are you alright my dear?” The ebony headed canine held a solid stance when he came to a stop to her left, expression puzzled to why the female seemed angry at her reflection. “Are you hurt?” It was not abnormal for the male to approach a random female, but to foolhardily go up to a lone wolf without being sure they were alone or not threatening was not a normal Maverick move. “Do you need help or something?”
