Ridiculously pleased with himself, Valentine followed the herd until the last of its members raced by the rock Rhythm was standing on. Every inch of him proclaimed his delight as he pranced up to the rock and threw his paws over the edge. He grinned up at her, his tongue lolling out of the corner of his mouth and giving him a slightly demented expression. "I'm sorry I opened my eyes!" With her statement, the brute features shifted immediately to convey mock disappointment. He sighed and hung his head as if she'd wrecked the whole thing. "You should be."

Nah, not really. With one eye he peeked over the edge of the rock at her. "So..." he drawled, "How was that? Better than getting left alone in a dark cave?" He hoped so.
