She understood the importance of staying within Threar's territories and listening to her mother's wishes. She was almost a year old and she hadn't been outside the pack, while her brothers surely would have by now. Her mind promised her that her walk would be short and not far from home. What was the worst that could happen? After all, she was quite a responsible and sensible girl, even for her age. She certainly wasn't looking for any trouble, it was only going to be peaceful walk with her thoughts and herself.
Snow had gracefully fallen across the Eastern lands, and the pup took this time to dance and stride about. It was her first time laying her eyes upon snow outside of Threar, and she instantly found it stunning and beautiful. Her matching pelt melded into the white substance, as if she was snow herself.
After traveling in the same direction for some time, she wondered whether or not to turn back and retreat home. While stuck in her thoughtful daze, her ears picked up the shrill of another creature. To her knowledge, it sounded like bird. Alarmed, she decided to investigate the area of which the squeal had come from. Her multicolored gaze watched from afar as a smaller pup found the bird, desperately searching for a way to help. Was the bird injured? The ivory girl kept her distance away, not wanting to interfere in the scene. The other pup darted about, returning with a wad of wet moss in her jaws. She was surprised. This pup cared for the bird. Yet somehow, wet moss didn't help.
Don't die...
Although she had merely watched, the event saddened her own emotions. Was the bird dead? How? It couldn't be...the girl helped it.
She finally couldn't keep herself hiding for any longer. She cautiously emerged from her spot, approaching the other girl slowly and silently. She hoped she wasn't interrupting in any way. Death was a subject she knew little of, and this was her first experience with it.
