He'd answer her question softly but only after a bit of contemplation, all they needed was words. She'd sigh softly as he kissed her gently, becoming confused as he left her side. She would only wait for his explanation for movement, her form shifting so her belly was again touching the ground. He seemed to prepare himself with a large breath before moving around to the back of the tree, she'd swivel her ears to try and decipher what he was doing over there. He was too quiet for her to discern anything, but as he came back she'd catch the scent of bird on his breath, and it seemed to still be alive. She wouldn't jump when he put it at her side, though she had expected him to set it before her as a meal. His words would explain everything, as she realized the confusion that had fallen on her face. What he'd given her was easily the sweetest gift she'd ever been given. Speechless she'd nuzzle the little thing to her fur, the little guy was quite cold. "He's the best gift I've ever gotten." She'd whisper, "You should know that I don't care if it's ugly," a giggle would leave her lips as she looked back up to him. "Do you want to help me name him?" |
