 For years, she has given. She has given love. Has given protection. Has given everything she had to offer. She has given children, has given adoration. She has given death and given Ludicael. And she has given and given and given until she is empty, until all that is left inside of her aging bones is a vast void, a black hole

And so she takes and takes and takes to fill that void, fill that hole; takes their dignity, takes their home, takes their family, takes their pride, takes their eye in a spasm of jaws as teeth spear through the orb and rip it from its socket. And so she takes, dancing away, prize earned, and takes and takes as without thought or hesitation tilts her dial slightly to the sky to let the ball roll down her throat, takes in one gulp. Foam takes the corners of her lips and bloodied tongue lashes out to clear it from ebony jowls. Pupils flick. From wolf to wolf. Before she turns sharply and sweeps along Oberon's side, pressing her pelt lightly into his as she passes, beckoning him to their olden kingdom. Taking, taking him with her, pushing him into the void they've all left in her, taking him to fill the loneliness in her heart. |
