Lel'swords stung, he wouldn't lie to himself. Maybe not as much as the white bastard intended but it definitely made Bane reflect on his choice of taking Nako. His reasons were old and to a point, sheer desperation of not having any young to rear at such an age. Legitimate children or not the old male was a far more impatient wolf after suffering through the agony of having a mate pass away during birth and the five pups that starved while he was away. "You forgot Calix, Lel." Bane suddenly raised his head to stare in the direction of Lel, glazed over eye giving a blink. "And I am sorry. I screwed my way across the land without care nor worry with over half a dozen females. Maybe it was to cover the loss of my mate and first litter. But when Alena was with child all I could think back was to when my dear, bloodied Alarice was laying dead in our den with the still bodies of our children against her belly." There was a minor note of sadness in Bane's tone, a mear story to tell now. "White was her pelt and white was Alena's. And so you five where born, and as I see it was a rather fitting number. But I was jealous and impatient even while Tahlia and I waited for our first young to enter the world. So I stole Nako. I stole him because he was the first to come over to me and that is the sole reason he is standing here by my side." Bane sat and turned his muzzle towards Nako. "It was desperation and longing to fill a gap in my life."
