Be my guiding light

Golden ears perked up as Scipio heard a voice. It had a small note of sarcasm in it as a dame he assumed asked him if he liked what he saw. She then came into view as she came up closer to where he was. Scipio did not shift nor stand up from his haunches. The male quietly took a moment to think before replying.
"If you actually cared about it then yes...I think so. It's nice to look at oneself every once in a while and see the changes. We all grow to be handsome and beautiful in our own way don't we?" he said in a soft tone while he seemed aloof with thoughts in his mind.
Then the brute averted his cobalt blue gaze onto the dame.
"My name is Scipio, Scipio Sperling." he said as he remembered his manners.
So far this femme seemed like a fun gal, at least she had a sense of humor. Perhaps she would be his friend, or not. But hopes were up that he could at least have someone to talk to for a little while more.
Looking back down at the puddle a small smile appeared on his maw.
"Not quite the outside that matters...but the inside. Yet we are pleased with what is to be seen on the outside. Or maybe we just don't look hard enough to realize." he mumbled to himself.
With a flick of his tail Scipio looked back up at the dame before him and gave her a friendly smile.
"And what may your name be?" he curiously asked.
It was as if the thoughts continued but while the words exited his mouth. Two things at once was what he thought was going on. Thinking and speaking, a normal combination.
She seemed to be around his age, or at least looked like it. His head tilted a bit to the side as curiosity piqued his mind. She was pretty too, but he let that thought slide before he spoke it. To Scipio every dame was pretty; yet maybe it was the gray around her striking green eyes or the rings of gray around her tail. An interesting pattern, but then look who's thinking.
The brutes smile continued as he was quite comfortable and content here for now. Surely she would answer, no?
