Mr. Graceful, eh? Well, at least it had a nice ring to it. In response to her playful query, he snorted. "Of course." Did she really doubt him? He'd have to prove her wrong then, wouldn't he?

Taking a teasing step forward, Valentine was on the verge of letting loose a sarcastic comment when his back seized up and the air was forced from his lungs in a single painful push. He grunted, transforming the unmanly squeal that threatened to break loose into a slightly more macho reaction. Oh, good gods below that hurt.

Coughing, he cleared his throat before speaking sheepishly, "How about a rain check?"
