Xhen felt as though she was stuck in limbo, dancing between reality and fantasy, since she had joined the Tortuga pack. Surprisingly, since her acceptance, she had been alone far more than she was used to. Luckily her brother had not dared intrude on the pack's territory before he approached them for acceptance, so she had slept alone, without the massive brute's presence beside her. She was not exactly growing used to it, but for now, she was dealing. He would come on his own time, and while he was scarce, she knew he was almost always near her, well hidden and out of sight. Despite this, she felt vaguely lost, wandering without a goal in mind. Previously she had been searching for a shelter for her sibling before the winter set in, but now she was simply existing. Waiting for something she wasn't aware of.

The stormy weather did not help her mental discomfort. Overhead the clouds darkened, the thunder booming loudly and echoing throughout the lands without mercy. Xhen wandered aimlessly, eventually finding a small opening at the base of one of a mountain, illuminated jsut barely in the diatabnce. She was thankful for the sight, knowing it meant shelter, warmth, and protection from the slowly worsening storm.

But as she drew nearer, her ears flicked with vague irritation as she caught sight of a creature lurking in the darkness. His white pelt stood out, and she saw him from a good distance away. The large woman froze in her tracks, claws digging into the dirt to provide traction as the wind whipped past, its fingers teasing her ebony fur and struggling to knock her off balance. Slowly she moved closer, shoulders squared and head lowered protectively. She was unsure whether she would find shelter again, and was growing nervous at the prospect of the storm growing any more dangerous. But was it worth a fight, if he choose to? She took a few steps nearer, eyes void of emotion as she watched the stranger, attempting to gauge his level of threat.
