Several wolves filed in after him, including his sister Freya. He was happy to see her of course and returned her smile even though he was mildly surprised to see her at a battle training. She had never been the type to enjoy this sort of thing like he and maybe Pandora had been. When he saw her arranging the herbs she had brought with her he understood she had come to heal those hurt in the training and was much less surprised.

His leaf-green gaze turned to focus on the woman that had called them as she began to speak and explain what they would be doing, although he couldn't resist one last glance around to double check and make sure his mother really hadn't shown. He frowned slightly to himself, but shrugged it off. Ah well, he would have to ask her about it later. The woman that was running this training seemed quite eager to get started and a slight, excited smirk touched his muzzle. He enjoyed fighting but hadn't really been properly trained until now so he was eager to get started as well. It was an opportunity to prove himself which was always something he'd look forward to.

However, his excitement dimmed into disappointment and confusion as the spar pairings were given out and his eyes were drawn to the smallest wolf he had ever seen. Ekko began to protest and a spotted boy even tried to come to her aid, but Catalya was having none of it. His brows pulled together with irritation. He had wanted a real chance to train and a challenge. Instead he got a pup of a woman who was refusing to fight. His ears perked to catch Freya's words when she came to whisper something to him and he glanced from her to his 'opponent' and back again at that. She was pregnant? He sighed heavily, but gave Freya an understanding and agreeable nod. Well, this was going to be fun.

He pulled his large form up onto his paws and walked over to where Ekko had pressed herself down against the ground and peered down at her tiny form. He could sit on her and finish this now. He sighed quietly again and spoke, his deep voice quiet and as gentle as he could manage. "Come on, I won't hurt you. Lets just get this over with so Catalya and the drill Sargent will leave you alone, okay?" "Then maybe I can find a real sparring partner. He kept the last bit to himself, not wanting to make her feel any worse than she already did.
