self inflicted his perdition
The world was nothing but a steaming heap of shit, and among it crawled the maggots and insects that liked to pollute it with their very existence. Nox surely had not made it easy for them, had he? But ah, then there was Celeste, his beautiful wife, who saw all life as beautiful. Saw only the good. What a terrible shame that there had to be some sort of balance. Aye, a shame. Perhaps that was why Rainbow found Nox to be a more worthy god to worship than his beloved. In the end, however, did any god truly watch over them anymore? Or were they all just playing the game of life down here, acting like fools, for the amusement of these gods. They sure seemed to like killing off those who were boring, now didn't they?
That was why she had decided to never be boring. Her very coat, her eyes, her essence of being spoke of a unique beast. She was a solid creature, yet not bulky. She carried herself with a warrior's pride, yet she did not immediately seek the taste of blood. A broken beast, in some sort of control at the moment. She moved with purpose and yet, she had no destination in mind. There was some sort of goal, but damned if she could remember what that was at this very moment. Rainbow breathed in, her nostrils flaring, as her red and pink orbs scanned the earth before her. Some valley, in the middle of some foreign land. She was just a foreigner here... a lost lamb. No... a lost monster seeking out it's next act of devilishness.
It was when she caught the scent of a male, and one with not so captivating a scent at that. There was something else in the air too, and when she arrived on scene it was clear as to what that was. A deer skin. Oh, how intriguing. The female would gaze at the man, standing off to the right of his rear by about two meters or so of length. Heck, had the man not been drugged he probably would have paid more attention to her approach. But no, his gaze was focused on something else. Something definitely not there, as far as she knew, that he was speaking to. Hell, maybe she was the one who was failing to see something.
"Do you always talk to invisible beasts, darling?" The female would ask almost gently, yet with a large grin on her face. Oh yes, let the fun begin. |
