Indeed he could have left Isolde. Never had he claimed any eternal commitment to her. The problem was simply that she was his and he hadn't been quite willing to let her go just yet. Perhaps it was the fact that it had nearly been the other way around, she had nearly been the one to leave. It had to be his choice to make, evidently that slightly possessive trait was one that the two men shared.
To be honest that some possessive nature would probably extend to his children. They were most certainly his. He could speak so casually about losing them but would he truly be so calm if they did happen to vanish? Hopefully that theory would never be tested, and for now the sour man would continue to burn off some of that frustration upon his brother. Perhaps it was good they were so close, it meant Soliloquy could get away with this childish behaviour now, Scorpion may not had appreciated such accusations from someone else.
That simple question would catch him off guard to be honest. Though Scorpion had been offering to babysit it only hit him now as the question of when was presented to him. Now? What was the point, the kids weren't even rounded up just yet and Isolde too was likely off trying to track them down. He'd have to let her know too, the day off together would in fact surely be rather nice. "I don't know." He responded, a heavy sigh leaving him as some of that anger faded, at least the stuff aimed purely at his brother anyway.
"They really are little shits." Soliloquy repeated, slightly calmer now as much as a warning as it was reaffirming he hadn't been exaggerating. "Caesar doesn't listen to a damn word we say and Colette can't hear over her own screams. And even Shakespeare wanders off, Isolde's always worried about where they'll go. What the hell am I meant to do with that?"
