”Oh my,” a soft breath escaped the young man’s mouth as he stared in wonder. His gaze rose smoothly upward, drawn almost magnetically towards the tops of the willows as he drew nearer to them. When he came underneath the nearest, his pace slowed to a halt and his head tipped all the way back to stare at the underside of the canopy above him. It was quite beautiful. He’d never seen trees like these before. Looking down again, he would scope the area. It was a whole forest of the trees, all with long, vine-like branches that hung down like long strands of hair, reaching for the ground. Streams wound around the trees in the shade, peppering the air with their soft trickling. The whole area had an atmosphere of peacefulness. Nagendra loved it.
Smiling softly and proceeding, he would step gingerly over a thin stream and wander under the next tree passing between its branches. He enjoyed the shade and the way the branches draped down and around. It made him feel safe and secluded. He paused once more, and glanced around. Something caught his attention then. Up ahead, some of the willow branches had been chewed. Only close to the ends though – by something decidedly short. Nagendra arched a brow curiously and walked over to inspect. There were more, leading in a path of minute destruction. He followed with increasing curiosity. The trail went on, but it seemed that he wouldn’t find anything. Still puzzled, but feeling a bit thwarted, he sighed and went to pad around one of the trees. It was there that the sight of a bright purple creature invaded his vision and calm mood. ”Oh!” he cried softly with surprise, not realizing at first what it was. He jumped a tad, inhaling sharply and then clamping his mouth shut tight when it processed that this was a wolf, a child no less. And it seemed to be sleeping. Having already jumped back, the wolf took another quiet step back, his body rigid. It would be a shame to wake a snoozing babe, but if the damage had already been done, he supposed it had already been done.
