(ooc: XD Lu, Genesis is a 'he' not a 'she' )

Oh my, this was a quite a reunion. And what a marvel that the two stood so still and calm in eachother's presence. After all, this was the firs time they'd seen eachother in, years, about half a decade - which is more like half a life time by lupine standards. And Gargoyle owed so much to the Valhallan Royal. Cairo had been almost like a son to Clash, Gargoyle's mother, but rather than looking on him as and adoptive older brother, the boy had viewed him as something closer to a father. Gargoyle had been rather quilty of hero worship in his first year of life, focusing mainly on Crusade and Cairo. For a brief time, Cairo had been the boy's mentor. Gargoyle had had his adventures around Starlite, including the encounter with a bull moose which had left him with his tail stub.

But Cairo had taught him a great deal even after he had ceased to be his mentor. Cairo was the first wolf that Gargoyle had ever learned to hate. Up until his first birthday, he'd been just a pup, as carefree and high-spirited and innocent as any other. But around that time he'd learned about his birthright. Gargoyle was the son of two warriors, one a saint... and one more like a green-eyed demon saved from the pit. In him the the capacity an angel's faith, or a devil's cold delight in the torment of others.

No doubt the fire in his blood would've awoken eventually no matter what, but it was Cairo, whom Gargoyle could thank for igniting the first sparks.

The two males hadn't laid eyes on eachother since that day. That day when Cairo had come with warparty of Starlites and rained down hell upon Crusade. Gargoyle had watched and listened in disbelief and fury as Cairo had accused his sister of treachery - she who had given him years of faithful service, who had risked her life again and again for him, who had fought by his side. The King all but threatened them with war. And in that moment 'Little Gargie' had snapped.

Already huge even at that tender age, he'd thrown himself at the Alpha, his world painted in red. The boy he'd been nothing but a big teddy bear most of his life, wanted nothing more than the rip him limb from limb and then maul all the little peices til he was nothing but a stain upon the snow.

And for a great many years since then, that remained exactly what Gargoyle planned on doing the next time they met.

And yet... when Gargoyle had talked with Collision upon the Glaciem border... his brother had said some surprising things. It began to dawn on Gargoyle that, just as he could change, perhaps Cairo could as well. Perhaps, in his old age, the once great King, repented of some of his actions....

Once upon a time not so very long ago, that would've have mattered one bit. But Gargoyle was different now. Despite his appearence to the contrary, he wasn't a god of death any longer.

"I was expecting Collision." About sumed up the moment. The statement wasn't in and of itself rude, but it was rather the wrong thing to say in such a situation.

"My apologies on intruding upon your time," he said in his usual monotone. "But in light of our recent reforging of alliance, I come to ask a favor. You know of Asheni I believe? She is dead. Slain by a rogue at our border." He didn't have to say how furious he was about it, or how hard they were currently trying to find and mutlilate the bastard who did it, it showed in the stiffening of his muscles. "It leaves us without a Lead Healer, and only a few half trained medics - no one of Asheni's caliber. The favor I ask is to burrow one of your healers, perhaps for a month's time, in which she can help teach our own wolves. I can assure you, the wolf would be treated with the utmost respect, and Valhalla would have our - gratitude." they was the slightest strain upon the final word; the only hint of inner feeling that Gargoyle showed throughout the monologue.

Whatever his personal feelings were, he was he on behalf on his pack.
