"Oops," She whimpered quietly, crashing to the forest floor after tripping over a stone. The little pink flowers that had fallen from the trees were stirred by her fall, fluttering over her like butterflies. She glanced up at them innocently and let out a quiet groan of pain. Her chin hurt...it felt like she landed on a rock! But it was just dirt and petals! She pulled her paws beneath her and stood up slowly, shaking her head in hopes of ridding her chin of the pain. But it was simply hopeless.
The young lady stopped and fell back on her rump, tail sweeping at the pink petals and dry leaves. When suddenly, a foreign aroma twirled around her, taunting her. Her mother taught her a little about tracking and seeing with her nose...so she was curious. She knew enough to know that someone was nearby. A stranger, nobody familiar. Sparrow scurried to her paws and twisted around instantly, bouncing toward the stranger without even thinking about his age or his capability. But to her relief...he was also a pup, maybe her age?
Sparrow stopped in front of him and puffed her chest out, tail lifting above her small frame. She saw her daddy do this to strangers at the border sometimes...what for again? The young dame tried to make herself appear larger and scarier, to intimidate this strange boy. To make him fear her...so he wouldn't boss her around. If anything, she was the boss! Definitely not him! Her minty eyes studied his ashen-grey colors...his red eyes. She grinned, but strangely enough, held her rather weak position.
"Who are you?" She asked, rather gently, knowing not that the way she stood and the way she spoke did not combine into an attitude one bit.
