Not long after he?d allowed his call to echo out above the treetops his sister added her own voice, perhaps letting the alphas know that the stranger was accompanied by a known member. His gaze would travel back to Loccian, noticing the smile that curled her lips, a genuine thing if he?d ever saw one before. It wasn?t tinged with sadness, like the forced one she?d presented him upon dropping the news of their departed brother. It was a real smile. Did she realize that things were going to start getting better between the two?

The pair didn?t have to wait long for the alphas, or alpha in this case since the king traveled alone, to grace them with his presence. It appeared he?d been already in the area when they had summoned them and found them easily enough. He was an imposing man, very regal in his stature, his eyes a royal violet, very befitting of the king. Pontifex straightened up, though minding how high he positioned himself, not wanting to surpass the king in a show of dominance. The king called out to his sister, affection lacing his words before he questioned the dark brute?s presence. A bow was presented to the king before he spoke, leveling his golden gaze with the king?s violet one. I am Pontifex sir, sister of Loccian and brother to Octavian. I came seeking acceptance among your ranks. With my brother departed, I no longer wish to be apart from my sister and I could think of no better way of always being with her than joining the pack she was a part of.

His voice was steady, slightly wavering at the mention of Octavian. How well had the king known Octavian? What kind of rank had his brother held in this pack? His questions would have to wait till later as he waited for a word from the king. Would he allow him to join the ranks on the simple notion that he was related to Octavian and Loccian? He would find out.
