Voltage had run, as quick as his streamlined body could take him. He ran fast, gaining short bursts of boundless energy here and there, but his stamina was not one to beat Glacier. He could move quickly, but it didn’t last for too long, but just when he would trail behind he’d burst forward again. Stamina was not something Voltage was good at, but his boundless energy helped him in sprinting races. This, however, was not a sprinting race. He was panting by the time they crossed the river, his body aching pleasantly at the exertion. He knew he would sleep well tonight, without the kicks his siblings had to put up with. Even in sleep he continuously moved, unable to expel the energy that continuously filled him. He was like a child, in that regard, and possibly his maturity as well.
He knew he would lose the race, as he lagged behind his brother, feeling his heart race against his chest, feeling his heart beat in his paws. "Okay!" He conceded, feeling the burning in his lungs. They would have to slow down, Glacier had won. "You win big brother!" He panted, slowing down to collect his breath. Where Glacier was leading him, he was unsure. But, suddenly, the loudest of bangs filled the sky and he jolted, eyes wide. It sounded like the sky had cracked open, and he knew for sure what that meant. Laughing nervously to himself he lifted his gaze to the darkening sky, swallowing around the lump in his throat. The energy in the air was practically static, he could feel it run through his veins, but it was always was preceeded the lightening that got him. Lightening streaked across the sky, shining against the expanse of water he hadn’t paid much mind too. It wasn’t very long before the clouds boomed again, and he felt his heart lurch and his hair jump on end before he ducked towards the earth. It was an automatic reaction as panic shook through him. Thunder...Oh how he hated it.
"Speech!"
