It appeared that Song's grooming wasn't really getting her anywhere. She didn't appear any drier than before she'd started the grooming. And so she would stop, perhaps because she was seeing her efforts were futile or because the events of the past hour or so were beginning to weigh down on her. Whatever the case, Cherokee couldn't help the rumble of content as he felt her head return to its place atop his neck. They fit together. Like two pieces of a puzzle. He liked being around Song, liked her company and her overall personality. And in all honesty, he liked her. She was the first wolf, since coming to Alacritis, that he'd been able to have an actual interaction with. She hadn't left to attend to pack business like the girl Chrysanthe and the fiery queen. She'd actually stuck around and even played with him a bit. No one had taken the time to do that, which was maybe part of the reason why he liked her in the first place.

He could feel the corners of her lips curling up against his neck in what he assumed to be a smile, her voice whispering against his fur, sending invisible shivers down his spine. You're so comfy, Cherokee... A soft chuckle rumbled in his chest at her words, audits flicking backwards towards her crown as she warned that there was a danger of her falling asleep on him, a yawn having split her jaws before she'd continued on. I'm glad you're comfortable miss Song. And you needn't worry, I won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I quite like exactly where I am right now. He hoped that she wouldn't hear anything in words that would reveal his ideas of this acquaintance becoming something more. He didn't want to give her the wrong idea when they'd barely met.

As the pair laid together, bodies pressed close together, an idea came to Cherokee. He'd stumbled across her today by accident. What if their next interaction was...planned? Miss Song, I know we've just met and all, but I was wondering... he trailed off for a moment, plume flickering uneasily. What if she didn't want to take him up on his offer? He wouldn't know until he tried. ...If you would like to...go on a date tomorrow? We could go explore some more together or I could invite you to breakfast. It's completely up to you though. I also understand if you have other things to do or you simply don't want to. It was rather hard admitting that part of him felt like she was going to reject him, but he might as well put it out there that even if she did it was fine. She had no obligation to be around him anymore if she didn't want to. The obsidian brute adjusted his head atop the dove's paws, pressing his neck just a little more into her chest as he waited for her response, his heartbeat painfully loud to his own ears.
