"I didn't even realize." At this a smirk quirked up the corners of his mouth. Few did. It was a rather large hole in the ground, but the rock and tree cast a shadow over it half of the day and roots hung over the mouth of it. Watching her gaze dart from him to the entrance, his smirk grew. "That's incredibly generous of you." To this he shrugged. Yes, it was. Was he arrogant for thinking it too? Yeah. Did that factor into his decision? Not at all. He was willing to give her his den not to boost his ego, but to give her a place that was comfortable. It was a good den. He'd had many a good night's sleep in it and the sunrise in the morning was fantastic. But if she wanted it, it was hers. "You'd really let me have it?" His response came without hesitation, "Yes, I want this to be your home as much as it is mine." Giving it to her didn't bother him in the slightest. Whatever made her comfortable was hers, all she had to do was ask. In the scheme of things it was a very small price to pay. |
