She really did smell funny.

Hating being in heat, she had taken to rubbing some lavender on her coat to mask the smell. She was so worried that the boys were going to smell it, and worse yet that it would make them think icky thoughts about their mother. Letting out a rumbling sigh she dragged herself out of her den in the Mangroves, heading off in search of the one wolf who knew it all, her mother. She knew that she lived in the mangroves as well, her scent was thickest here. She needed to know what Pip had done all those years with the boys around, and if she found that they reacted to it at all. It made her nervous and honestly, a little bit scared. She never, ever wanted her boys to look at her as anything other than their mother, and who better to help her than her own mom. Slowly slinking around a bent, she stuck her nose in the air and sniffed around. It smelled like it was around her -- her mother's den that was.

"Momma?" she called softly, her sweet voice reaching out for one of the greatest woman she knew. "Are you around here? Cause I really need to talk to you..." Her voice was dripping with dread and worry. Not to mention that this topic was going to be slightly embarrassing, probably on both their ends. Dropping her rump to the ground, she suddenly missed the rest of her tail. Instinctively her little stub had moved to cover her side and help mask the scent, but hardly reached far at all. Whining softly, she prayed to the stars that the lavender was enough to hide it for now. At least until she had an answer. Blue eyes looked around her little waiting spot, willing her wonderful mother to appear at any moment.
